Exercises For Abs
#1. Cardio + Global Weight Lifts + Diet
The best exercises for abs are:
- Global Weight Lifts
- Diet (not an exercise, but extremely important)
Note: There are no crunches on this list.
If you are looking for a secret to perfect abs, like those on the picture, you must do cardio to lose fat that covers your abs.
You also must do Global Weight Lifts to get a muscular look. If you don’t do Global or Compound Lifts, you will end up with a skinny look. If that’s what you like, then go for it. However if you want to look really fit, then Global Lifts must be an integral part of your six-pack abs program.
Another reason to perform Compound Lifts is to build some general muscle mass. When you add some muscles to your body, you will start burning your stomach fat faster. Remember: Adding muscles = faster getting rid of stomach fat.
You must eat a balanced diet to make sure that your cardio and weights don’t go into waste.
#2. Cardio only
Cardio is absolutely and positively the best exercise for getting cut.But if you do cardio only, you will likely have a runner’s look. Yes, you will have six pack abs, but you will not look super fit, because you will not look muscular and healthy enough
The easiest cardio workout is jogging.
The most effective type of cardio workout is HIIT, high intensity interval training.
Cardio exercise combined with diet is necessary to lose fat that covers your abs.
Look at the picture above. If you do only cardio and no weights, you will get the skinny six pack. Most women will be delighted with this kind of look, but not guys!
So… you have to lift some weights guys. Which leads us to the second best exercises for abs:
#3. Global Weight Lifts
Now, if you are like many people out there on the quest for visible abs, you probably wonder: What about weight lifting?
Here is your answer. Weight lifting is the second best six pack abs exercise. But not just any kind of weight lifting. I’m talking about global weight lifts here. Let me explain.
For the purpose of your understanding of exercises for abs, we will divide weight lifting into two kinds of exercises:
- Local lifts
- Global lifts.
If you do bicep you go local. If you do squats you go global.
This understanding is absolutely crucial if you ever want to get a visible set of abs.
What I am saying here is that Global Lifts are:
- dead lifts,
- bench presses
- and rows
Forget about bicep curls or hamstrings machines. Focus on Global Lifts if you want to have six pack abs and a muscular look at the same time.
#4. Crunches and leg lifts
Have a look and try to remember this picture for the rest of your life. If you do crunches only and hope for six pack abs, it’s not going to happen.
Crunches are the 3rd best exercises to strengthen and build your abs, but they will do nothing to facilitate fat loss that only the first two exercises provide.
I hope by now, you are beginning to understand what are the best exercises for abs.
